———-

What was the first instrument in history? Do you know? Have you ever given it some degree of thought?

Perhaps it was the flute? After all, it can be made from a variety of materials and can be found in all cultures. Alas, this is not the case.

Ah! The hands. Clapping. But clapping to what?

Ah, surely it is the gift of song conveyed through the voice that was the first instrument! But alas, this is not the case.

So then what was the first instrument?

The heart.

The cadence of life.

The first song from which all songs must flow.

Flutes, drums, clapping hands, and the voice are infants to the heartbeat, the first instrument and first song of all existence.
